Tutor helping struggling child with math and science

Aliya Aslam Chiali holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Math from the University of Houston. Aliya is a former secondary math teacher from Sartartia Middle School in Fort Bend ISD. She is true advocate for the development of character and the building of confidence; her passion and enthusiasm for teaching has been the major influence in her student’s success in academics. She believes every child should be valued and treated with respect.  Education should empower a child and help him or her make a positive contribution to our world.  A love of learning is the ultimate gift a teacher can give her students. With a little bit of guidance, she believes that every child has the potential to shine.

Marina Hanlon’s love of learning has always been apparent and as a child she looked for really big books in the library to challenge herself and loved shopping for school supplies far more than clothes.  Marina decided this passion she had could not go to waste and wanted to bring the challenge and pride of learning she felt to kids who had never felt that sense of accomplishment.  Marina believes learning is something everyone loves at their core, and it only takes a good experience to bring out that joy of discovery we all crave.  In hopes of pursing her doctorate degree, she plans on teaching kids ranging from kindergarten to the collegiate level.

Maria is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Maria enjoys putting her mind, soul, and heart into helping our students succeed. The students come to our center eager to learn in a fun and supportive environment; this is why she is perfect for the role.

Ana Gabriela Diaz Covarrubias, better known as Ms. Ana, is a recent graduate from Texas A&M University. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science and Technology and a minor in Business Administration but enjoys working with a variety of subjects including Science, Math, English, and Spanish within others. Ana was an educator in College Station for 5 years before moving to Cypress and has great experience with students of all ages and many subject areas! After working with children for several years and discovering her true passion for teaching, she decided to get alternatively certified in the area of Life Sciences for grades 7-12. She is a very cheerful and energetic tutor whose joy and fulfillment comes from all of her students and their success.

Our classrooms feature an intense learning environment that combines “The Rotational Approach to Learning” and One-To-One Instruction. Both methods were developed by Edward S.Thalheimer, Ph.D., founder of THE TUTORING CENTER. Our innovative system gives your child far more One-to-One Instruction than he or she will ever receive in a classroom full of children, or even in a small group.

You have many choices available for your child, and we want you to make the choice that's in your child's best interest. For instance, many schools provide after-school tutoring or intervention programs for students who are having difficulty in school, and maybe your child has been offered one in the past. Even though these programs are free to families, current research indicates that these programs are inefficient and time-consuming. Since they focus mostly on completing your child's homework, they can not offer you a permanent solution. While school-based tutoring may provide your child with short-term homework help, THE TUTORING CENTER's intense One-to-One Instruction and "The Rotational Approach to Learning™" actually provide your child with long-term skills that will last a lifetime.
